school of pest

Yesterday went for a mornin session with a friend with hope of landin an elusive Queen on lure(the last caught 1 year ago) but instead we have a visitation from a school of pest Cudas instead that resulted in 4 landins and a fews burst off.The score was 2 all with us landin 2 each :) No biggies to shout about but good remedy from the stress of work All fishes were released but who would want to eat this fish that has Ciguatera fish toxin . Cheers

birthday gift for wifey

Today has been a good day for me not only landin my 1st wild Kim in my huntin ground of Queens and Cudas but also fulfillin what i promised my wife to land her a fish on her birthday today. As i have experienced long periods of dry spell so today's catch was kind of a relieve and joy. Started to lure at 7am coverin the lengths of the river bank and with the hours tickin by and arms achin i was expectin another disappointment as there were no sign of biggies chasin baitfishes despite plenty baitfishes swimmin in unison. At 10am sharp i was almost callin it quit when i decided to give another cast and out of nowhere about 10m from the sandbar, bam! something took my line and i thought its another pest Baracuda but no its a Kim with its acrobatic jumps and flips. But to be honest its no fighter compared to a Queen but i'm happy it was landed. As there wasn't anyone around i have to use the timer mode to capture the shots and it didn't really turn out well but good enough. The fish was then released to fight for another day. Cheers

almost another cuda

Today was kind of eventful..venture beyond my usual spot as my regular spot was totally subsmerged in water...almost landed another Cuda at 2 in the afternoon but lost it due to my own folly of tryin to capture its final moments with camera in one hand and holdin on to the rod with a hookup fish on the other hand..never done this before.. The joker did manage to make a last desperate shakeoff when i was still tryin to snap more pics before gainin its freedom. You deserve it bro..thanks for the fight

nite cuda

Yesterday was with a kaki almost the entire day at our usual "backyard" but returned zero fighters. Today went back there again determine to finish up the work and this time we arrived in the afternoon at 4pm during the receeding tide and as usual we started luring nonstop but there were no takers and no sign of any biggies roaming the spot. At the 6.50pm mark while retrieving, suddenly out of nowhere a biggie just took my line and there started the tug of war The joker was subdued and have pics taken before reviving and releasing back to the water.By then it was already dark and we decided to leave the ground. Anyway a second Cuda for me in 2 weeks and a first in the nite.Hope you like it. Cheers!
